Broad Street Angels Closes Angel Investment Deal With Houwzer

CLOSES ANGEL INVESTMENT DEAL WITH HOUWZER
(Philadelphia, PA) RoseAnn B. Rosenthal, Chair of the Broad Street Angels, the Union League’s angel investing affinity club, announced that its members have completed their due diligence process and have decided to make an investment in the online residential real estate brokerage start-up, Houwzer. “BSA members have made a combined six-figure investment in the company,” said Mr. Bob Ciaruffoli, Vice Chair of BSA and Chair of the Houwzer deal team.
Houwzer is a full-service, tech-enabled real estate brokerage company with its business model designed to disrupt the traditional residential real estate broker paradigm. Traditionally, home sellers pay their broker 3% out of 6%. Houwzer’s innovative model offers the industry’s first 0% listing commission model and charges a flat fee of $495 only after the lister sells the property, saving the seller thousands of dollars. The company was founded by local entrepreneur, Mike Maher (Benjamin’s Desk) and is headquartered in Philadelphia.
