BROAD STREET ANGELS ANNOUNCE NEW CHAIR TO LEAD THE ORGANIZATION


Bob Ciaruffoli becomes new Chair of the Broad Street Angels. Melissa Ludwig appointed Vice Chair.

(Philadelphia, PA – July 1, 2022) The Broad Street Angels have announced Bob Ciaruffoli as its new Chair, effective July 1, 2022, assuming the role that RoseAnn B. Rosenthal has held for the last five years since the organization’s inception. “It has been an honor and a privilege to have co-founded and helped  this organization to grow to over 120 members today. Bob is an excellent leader that will take our group to the next level” said RoseAnn B. Rosenthal, Managing Director of the First Fund,  CEO Emeritus of Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern PA. and Senior Advisor to Plain Sight Capital and JVS Phila Fund for Women. RoseAnn will continue to be active in the role of Chair Emeritus of the Broad Street Angels.

Ciaruffoli is also a founding member of the Broad Street Angels, has previously served as Vice Chair, and will continue his role as Chair of the Screening Committee.  He formerly was the CEO of ParenteBeard and oversaw its merger with Baker Tilly. Bob currently serves on the Board of Directors of Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Softwear Automation, Inc, studio Be, Layer 8 Security and the Union League Legacy Foundation.  Additionally, Ciaruffoli serves on the Board of Advisors of Zenapse.

“I look forward to continuing to provide our members with investment opportunities to help grow the startup eco-system in the mid-Atlantic, and especially the Philadelphia region,” Ciaruffoli recently said at a Broad Street Angels members meeting.

Melissa Ludwig has been appointed as Vice Chair of the Broad Street Angels. She formerly was an accomplished senior leader of Macy’s and is currently the principal of ML Associates, an advisory consultancy, specializing in C-suite career transitioning to the boardroom, and go-to-market and fundraising strategies for startups in the consumer products industry. Melissa served on the board of CSS Industries (NYSE: CSS), a publicly held firm through its exit and currently serves on the boards of NACD Philadelphia (Chair), the Forum of Executive Women, the Girard College Foundation, and several startups. She also serves as an Advisory Board Member of the Raj & Kamla Gupta Governance Institute at Drexel University’s LeBow School of Business.
