UNION LEAGUE MEMBERS START ANGEL INVESTOR GROUP

(Philadelphia, PA) The newest member of Philadelphia’s burgeoning angel investment community is also an affinity club at The Union League of Philadelphia. The new group, called the Broad Street Angels, consists of members who will actively invest in qualified, early-stage enterprises in Greater Philadelphia as a means of growing the region’s economy, retaining and attracting talent and fostering innovations that strengthen our civic infrastructure. The new organization will begin reviewing angel investment opportunities after the first of the year.

RoseAnn Rosenthal was selected to chair the new group. Rosenthal, who is also President & CEO of BenFranklin Technology Partners, said, “Our group is uniquely qualified because of its ability to harness the extraordinary insight and expertise from a dynamic membership of top-level executives representing widely diverse industries and backgrounds.” The members of the Broad Street Angels are also members of The Union League of Philadelphia.

Other officers include Bob Ciaruffoli, former managing partner of Baker Tilley, who was selected Vice Chair. Katherine O’Neill, Executive Director of JumpStart New Jersey Angel Network, is Secretary.   John Rigaut, Managing Director of JTR & Associates, was selected Treasurer. Doc Parghi, partner with SRI Capital is Membership Chair. Chris Topolewski, Principal & Advisor, West Capital Management is also membership. Eric Rugart, CEO of Feta Med, is Program Chair. Jerry Johnson, President & CEO, Axum Advisors, LLC is Deal Review Committee Chair. Leo Levinson, CEO of GroupLevinson Advertising is Communications Chair. Mark Henderson, Founder & Principal, Grayline Partners is Organization Chair.
